Lovely shop and great advice from staff and owners. Reliable selection, health and quality of fish.
There's a decent selection here and the staff seems to know more than just the basics of the hobby... However, on two separate occasions, the employees assisting me seemed to be agitated with my presence, as if they had better things to do than sell me their merchandise. Additionally, their prices are pretty steep. I understand that they need to make a profit, but everything in the store is noticeably more expensive than what you can find it for at the other two stores in the area.
Great local fish store. Helpful staff, good selection of fish and other items. You can also place reservations for less common fish that they do not regularly stock. Nothing but good things to say from me.
They have, or used to have a good variety of freshwater fish...unusual tetras, Oto catfish, pygmy cories, shrimp. I don't know if I've just been going on off days but the variety has gone down significantly. Bottom line, I've been disappointed lately but not enough to stop shopping here entirely. This just isn't my first choice for fish anymore.
I've bought quite a few fish here. I get the impression that there is very quick fish turnover and the fish can be stressed out as a result. I've had some unfortunate fatalities even with good husbandry at home.
Fish are healthy. Staff are honest and knowledgeable. Free water testing. Good stock of aquariums and specialty equipment. They're very helpful if you want to start a new tank, or are fixing an older one. Use the big box stores for getting dog food. But if you have an aquarium, never, ever, bypass the local expert.
The location is convenient for me since I can stop in after work. Staff are nice, knowledgeable depending on who is there. Prices are good and competitive.
